Why we exist
By 2026 most SA online casino reviews are written by content farms in Bulgaria, the Philippines or Mauritius. They have never been inside a Hollywoodbets shop. They cannot tell you which Habanero slot the man on the corner of Smit Street plays every Wednesday at 8:30pm. They do not know the FICA window closes at 17:00. They have no idea why the Betway lobby is called Spins and not Spina Zonke.
We do. So we built this.
Who writes the site
Two people. Sipho Khumalo is the lead writer, based in Johannesburg, six years writing about SA online gambling. Nomvula Dube is the fact-checker, based in Cape Town, ex-paralegal at a WCGRB-licensed bookmaker. Sipho writes, Nomvula checks. Nothing is published before Nomvula signs off.
Both names are pen names. We use pen names so reviewers can rate operators honestly without becoming personal targets of operator marketing teams. The work is real, the signed-off audit trail is real, the byline is consistent across every piece.
How we test operators
Real money, real account, real R200 deposit. The same R200, in the same week, on every operator we review. The test runs the operator through the full lifecycle:
- Sign up via the public website on both desktop and mobile.
- FICA-verify with a South African ID and proof of address (an actual recent utility bill, operators reject screenshots).
- Claim the welcome bonus where one is offered.
- Play 60 minutes on the operator's Spina Zonke or equivalent lobby with R5 average stakes.
- Request a withdrawal of whatever is left.
- Time how long the withdrawal takes to land in our bank account.
Every number on every operator review is checked by Nomvula against the operator's live terms page on the day the review is published, and against the operator's licence on the relevant provincial gambling board website.
How we score operators
Seven categories, weighted, capped at 5.0:

What we will not do
- We will not list an unlicensed offshore operator on this site, no matter how attractive their commission rate.
- We will not rewrite a negative review because of a commercial conversation.
- We will not run paid placement disguised as editorial. Featured placements are labelled as such.
- We will not write about online casino games offered outside the fixed-odds contingency frame, because those are not legal in South Africa.
