Hollywoodbets and Booming Games ran a R1 million slot tournament in September

Booming Games and Hollywoodbets paid R175,000 per phase across four September phases, scored on win-to-stake ratio rather than total stake. Here is how it worked and what to look for next time.

Hollywoodbets and slot studio Booming Games ran a four-phase tournament from 1 to 30 September 2026, worth R1 million in cash prizes plus three Bucket List Experiences, as reported by LCB.

How it was scored

Each spin scored its win divided by its stake. A R40 bet that won R400 scored 10. The minimum bet was R2 on an eligible Booming Games title. That matters: a ratio score rewards one big multiplier, not the size of your bankroll, so a small-stake player had the same shot as a big one.

Phases and prizes

PhaseDates
11 to 7 September
28 to 14 September
315 to 21 September
422 to 30 September

Each phase paid R175,000 across the top 200 positions: R25,000 for first, R15,000 for second, R10,000 for third, R5,000 each for fourth and fifth, and R2,500 each for sixth to tenth. Prizes were due in winners' Hollywoodbets accounts within seven working days of each phase. The three Bucket List Experience winners were drawn from valid entries and due to be contacted on 5 October.

Our take

This was a separate promotion from the Jackpot Race, on different games. Hollywoodbets runs studio tournaments like this from time to time. When the next one opens, read the scoring rule first. Ratio scoring suits small stakes. Stake-volume leaderboards do not, and chasing one is an easy way to overspend.
